Scheherazade & MTAC winners

The Greater San Diego Chamber Orchestra presents Rimsky Korsakov’s Scheherazade, Haydn’s Concerto in D Major, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 27 in Bb Major, Vittorio Monti’s Czardas, and Max Bruch’s Romanze featuring two 2019 MTAC Concerto Competition winners Youchae Bae and Alexis Wu, as well as Elizabeth Tin-Maung, a current student of USD and USD faculty member Ramon Negron.

The Greater San Diego Chamber Orchestra presents Rimsky Korsakov’s Scheherazade.  The concert also features two winners of the 2019 MTAC, and a music faculty and a music major from the University of San Diego.

Youchae Bae, piano, 1st place winner of Piano Division I (age through 11), will perform the first movement of Haydn’s Concerto in D Major.  Youchae is a piano student of Sun Yung Cho.

Alexis Wu, piano, 1st place winner of Piano Division III (age 15 to 18), will perform the third movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 27 in Bb Major, K. 595.  Alexis is a piano student of Alex Mirolyan.

USD student Elizabeth Tin-Maung, violin, will perform Vittorio Monti’s Czardas.  Elizabeth is a violin student of Edmund Stein.

USD music faculty Ramon Negron, viola, will perform Max Bruch’s Romanze.

The concert will be conducted by Dr. Angela Yeung, with guest conductor Dr. Jeff Malecki.

University of San Diego offers free parking on weekends.

Tickets are $10 general, $8 seniors, and $5 students.  Free seating in Shiley Theatre.
